Career summary, research topics and interests
Penny Knowler works voluntarily as a Research Assistant for Clare Rusbridge, Goddard Veterinary Group, Stone Lion Veterinary Center, Wimbledon, London, SW19 5AU, UK and as the Canine Syringomyelia Project Leader for DNA Collection for CM/SM genome project at CHUM, University of Montreal, Canada. Graduating with a B.Sc (Hons) Zoology at London University she had a successful career in education before assisting Clare in 1999 collecting DNA from dogs with Lafora disease. Since then she has investigated the hereditary basis and developmental aspects of Chiari-Like Malformation and Syringomyelia in Cavalier King Charles Spaniels and Griffon Bruxellois. She now coordinates the worldwide collection and collation of phenotypic information and associated DNA for the CM/SM genome project and provides support materials, particularly in graphics.
